Statement of grievance
The grievor protests that the City of Riverbend violated the Riverbend Municipal Collective Agreement 2024–2027, Article 16 (Discipline & Discharge), by terminating the grievor without just cause.
On or about June 2026, the Employer discharged the grievor, a Parks & Recreation department worker, without establishing just cause and without following the progressive-discipline and procedural requirements of Article 16. The Union submits that the penalty of discharge is excessive and unwarranted in the circumstances, and that the Employer failed to consider the grievor's record and mitigating factors.
